Francesco Maria Messina

Crafting Tomorrow's Design Classics

Francesco Maria Messina's creative journey began in Pisa, Italy, where classical studies laid the foundation for his artistic vision. From there, he ventured to prestigious institutions like the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris and Lyon's innovative Confluence Institute, guided by visionaries Odile Decq and Matteo Cainer. Francesco's global exploration took him to Tulane University in New Orleans, USA, followed by creative stints in Paris and Cameroon, Africa.

Between 2018 and 2020, Francesco blossomed into a full-fledged designer, crafting five distinct design lines and co-founding the luxury furniture brand Cypraea. His creations found acclaim in the galleries of Rossana Orlandi in Milan, Porto Cervo, and London.

In 2020, he returned to Tuscany to establish his own design studio, FMM, where he explores the intersection of nature and design. His innovative creations have graced prestigious venues like the Venice Design Biennale, Arte in Nuvola in Rome, and Galerie des Lyons in Paris. Francesco's designs have gained international recognition, adorning both publications and private collections.

Each FMM piece is a labor of love, meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans in Tuscany, Italy. The goal is simple: offer collectors authentic, rare, and one-of-a-kind designs that challenge trends and commercial norms, ensuring Francesco's work stands as tomorrow's design classics.
